TEN DAYS
In Residence

Led by Swami Prabodh Chaithanya and DrJi

LIVING INSIDE THE TEACHING

To dwell in the teaching is to live inside it: from the first breath of the morning to the quiet before sleep.

For ten days in Kerala, the land where the Vedic tradition lives and breathes, you live and practise alongside the teachers. Every day is shaped by two great rivers flowing together: Yoga and the Vedic vision, the living transmission of those who have walked this inquiry to its depth. The teaching is something you inhabit: carried through waking, working, and resting alike, the whole of each day held within the same continuous practice.

This is what Yoga Prabodhana means in practice: the sustained investigation of what you actually are, held within a container carefully shaped by those who have walked the same inquiry. The teaching creates the conditions. Recognition is yours alone.

Swami Prabodh Chaithanya

Swami Prabodh Chaithanya has dedicated his life to the study, practice and transmission of the Vedic wisdom tradition.
A direct disciple in the lineage of Swami Chinmayananda and Swami Dayananda Saraswati, he spent many years in intensive study and service before being entrusted with teaching.
With clarity, humour and compassion, Swamiji brings the ancient wisdom into living relevance for modern seekers.
His presence creates a space of depth and simplicity where the teachings can truly land.

FROM THOSE WHO HAVE SAT WITH OUR TEACHERS
This was a very special week.
Strong meditations… I feel grateful.
Just by his presence, my mind settles and I go deeper into the yoga practice.

THE INVITATION

Are these teachings calling you closer?

Perhaps you have encountered Yoga, and sense it is far more than physical exercise.

Perhaps you are drawn to Vedānta, mantra, Sanskrit, and seek the chance to live and study within them.

Perhaps you desire to be in close contact with teachers who hold these traditions;
to practise, enquire, and let the teachings take root.

Sincerity, openness, and a genuine wish to engage matter more than experience or scholarship.
A willingness to come, listen, and enquire is enough

Frequently Asked Questions

What if there is somewhere specific I would like to visit?
Kerala is a land of extraordinary sacred sites, temples, rivers, and places of quiet significance, not to mention the famous backwaters. If there is somewhere you feel called to visit during the retreat, please let us know. Where it is possible and agreeable to the group, we will do our best to accommodate it. Any excursion arranged at your request comes at an additional cost, agreed in advance.
Can I arrive earlier or stay longer than the retreat dates?
Extended stays before or after the retreat are sometimes possible. If you would like to arrive earlier or stay on afterward, please email us with your preferred dates and we will let you know whether it can be accommodated. Any extension is arranged individually, with details agreed directly between you and the team.
What if the cost is a barrier for me?
There is a genuine investment involved in offering these teachings, and we ask what we reasonably can to make that possible. At the same time, we don't want finances alone to stand between someone genuinely called to this retreat and the experience itself. If you're interested but concerned about the cost, please reach out to us directly. We're happy to discuss it together.
How do I travel to Kerala?
The nearest airports are Cochin International Airport in Kochi and Trivandrum International Airport in Thiruvananthapuram, each around three hours from the retreat location by road. Direct trains and buses from both cities to the retreat location are also possible, for those who enjoy a slower journey through the Kerala countryside.
Can Yoga Prabodhana help arrange transport from the airport?
Yes. Once your flight details are confirmed, our team can arrange a private taxi directly from either airport to the retreat, so your arrival is simple and calm from the moment you land.
Do I need a visa to travel to India?
Most travellers can apply for an electronic tourist visa online well before departure. Processing generally takes a few days, and we recommend checking current requirements for your nationality directly with the Indian High Commission or your nearest Indian consulate.
What is the weather like in November?
November brings warm, settled weather to Kerala, with the heaviest monsoon rains behind and humidity easing. Days are pleasantly warm, evenings cooler, comfortable for both indoor teaching and time outdoors.
What should I pack?
Light, breathable clothing suited to a tropical climate, something modest and comfortable for practice and shared spaces, a light shawl for cooler mornings, personal toiletries, comfortable walking shoes, mosquito repellent, and a universal adapter for Indian power sockets. Yoga equipment will be provided.
Is the drinking water safe?
Filtered, safe drinking water is provided throughout your stay. A reusable bottle is a simple companion for topping up whenever you like.
Will I have WiFi and phone signal?
Mobile coverage is reliable, and WiFi is available at the retreat, so staying in touch with home remains easy throughout your time with us.
Can I get a local SIM card?
Yes. The simplest option for most travellers is to purchase a SIM card directly from the counters at Cochin International Airport or Trivandrum International Airport, using a passport and a small passport photograph. Airport prices run somewhat higher than in the city, generally around double, in exchange for straightforward service and quicker activation. Airtel is the only provider that reliably issues SIM cards to foreign tourists without a local Indian contact or address, so it is worth asking for Airtel specifically. Tourist SIM cards are valid for up to ninety days, or the length of your visa, whichever is shorter, after which the connection is deactivated automatically.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
All meals are sattvic, vegetarian, and prepared fresh daily. Please share any allergies or specific requirements when you apply, so the kitchen can plan around them from the first day.
What healthcare facilities are nearby?
There is a nearby government hospital, offering emergency care day and night, along with several private clinics and pharmacies within a few minutes of the town centre. There are two Ayurvedic clinics nearby. Hospitals offering a wider range of specialties are a short drive away.
What shops and everyday amenities are close by?
The local area is well provided for daily needs: pharmacies, general stores, banks, and local markets, all within walking distance or a brief auto rickshaw ride from the retreat.
